Answer: Purple Cloud currently does not take insurance, however you may be provided with a detailed invoice if your insurance company accepts acupuncture treatments.

What Kind Of Conditions Should I Seek Acupuncture Treatment?

Answer: An acupuncturist may be consulted for specific symptoms and conditions such as pain, anxiety, arthritis, asthma, migraine, menstrual disorders, intestinal disorders, addiction and a plethora of other conditions. The World Health Organization (WHO) has listed the above conditions and many more as being responsive to acupuncture treatment.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Answer: The number and frequency of treatments really depends on the condition, how long the patient has had this condition, and the severity of it. Each case and condition is treated individually. Some cases are successful at 5 treatments, some at 40 treatments. Usually, a series of 10-20 treatments are necessary to resolve many, but not all, conditions. A consultation is required to determine requirements. Appointments can last between 60-90 minutes long, with the first consultation usually lasting longer, while the actual treatments ranging between 20 to 60 minutes in length.

Does Acupuncture Treatment Hurt?

Answer: It depends. Most patients who come in for treatments of a more “internal medicine” nature have stated that there is little or no pain as very fine, sterile, disposable needles are used. However, some patients who come in for muscle aches, pains, and stiffness feel a “therapeutic discomfort” in the attempt to loosen and relax the knotted muscles. This sort of discomfort is very similar to the sensation one feels when receiving deep tissue massage. Treatments are available without the use of needles through Clinical Qigong energy healing.

Can Children Be Treated With Acupuncture?

Answer: Children of all ages are treated and respond well to acupuncture and Chinese herbal treatment. In addition, young children of those apprehensive of the use of acupuncture needles may be treated without needles using Clinical Qigong energy healing.

Should I Consult With My Physician Regarding Getting Treatments At Purple Cloud?

Answer: In the state of Illinois, you don’t necessarily have to do so, however it is highly advisable to always inform your physician about any treatment that you are seeking and it is also very important to have a list of medications and supplements that you are taking available during your first consultation with your acupuncturist.

However, in the case of Shamanic Healing, due to its potential intensity, it is highly advised that those with severe mental/emotional wellness conditions be under the care of a therapist before working with Sonny.

Will Acupuncture, Energy Healing, Shamanic Healing, or any of the Qigong/Meditation classes interfere with my religious beliefs?

Answer: No. Although most of the healing modalities offered at Purple Cloud is based from so-called spiritual practices from the East as well as Shamanic world views, these non-dogmatic philosophies are universal in nature. So whether or not you belong to a religion, you will find that Acupuncture, Energy Healing, Shamanic Healing, and Qigong and meditation will compliment your way of life.
