Purple Cloud is back, and Sonny brought some bowls!

Hello friends of Purple Cloud, just a quick update for you!

After a very long break, I’m back in the office starting this coming Tuesday, January 26th!

And not only that, but I’m excited to announce that I’m officially going public with the “singing bowl relaxation therapy” that some of you may have had the pleasure of receiving as a part of my experimentation with acupuncture!

For those who haven’t experienced it yet, Singing bowls are a type of bowl that produce sound and vibration when they are played. People throughout history up till now use these instrumental bowls for several different healing purposes, including meditation.

At Purple Cloud, I use specialized vibrating bowls called “Zen Therapeutic Singing Bowls,” created by Jeff Howard of Vibrational Sound Association, which produce a low, mellow tone, and are designed specifically for channeling subtle energetic vibrations throughout the body. These very soothing vibrations assist the client in reaching a deeper sense of relaxation.

I utilize these bowls in order to enhance the healing effects of acupuncture, and to bring a greater sense of homeostasis for his clients. Some clients have even said that their best acupuncture treatments have been with the singing bowls fully integrated into the treatment!

Singing bowl relaxation therapy is primarily for deeper relaxation. However some secondary benefits may include:

  • Less pain
  • Improved sleep
  • Reduced anger
  • Reduced anxiety
  • Improved blood pressure
  • Improved respiratory rate
  • Reduced depression
  • Improved general well being

Clients who have the following cannot receive singing bowl relaxation therapy:

  • Pregnancy
  • Epilepsy
  • Severe or clinical mental health issues
  • Implants or plates in the body
  • Heart pacemaker
  • Coronary stent
  • Cardiac shunt
  • Artificial heart valves
